South Korean bass Stephano Park is the winner of Operalia 2023.

In the 2026/27 season, he makes his house and role debut at LA Opera as Zaccaria in Nabucco. He also debuts with the Rotterdam Philharmonic in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 under Manfred Honeck and with the Ann Arbor Symphony in Mozart’s Requiem under Earl Lee.

He was a member of the Wiener Staatsoper’s opera studio from 2022 to 2024. He made his US operatic debut in 2025 as Sparafucile in Rigoletto at Santa Fe Opera. His other appearances include Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro with Korean National Opera, Monterone in Rigoletto at Royal Danish Opera, Uncle Bonze in Madama Butterfly at Calgary Opera, Mandarino in Turandot at the Baltic Opera Festival, and Gran Sacerdote in concert performances of Nabucco at Opéra de Toulon. He has also sung Ramfis in Aida at the Oper Gars Summer Festival.

His US concert debut was in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Milwaukee Symphony. He subsequently appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony in Manfred Honeck’s reimagining of Mozart’s Requiem. Further performances include Verdi’s Requiem with the Korean National Symphony Orchestra and an appearance at the Daejeon Grand Festival.
